    Top Chinese television personality Xie Na, or simply "Nana", is a native of Deyang in Sichuan province.

    Kicking off her on-screen career in 1996, Nana's fame factor took a steep hike up when, in 2000, she became an emcee on Hunan Television Station's "Happy Camp" variety show. A graduate of Sichuan Normal University Film & Television College, Xie, 30, has also dabbled in both acting and singing.

    Her funny, endearing spirit has earned her the nickname as "The Mainland's Stephen Chow." He is the comedic lead in such hilarious films as "Kung Fu Hustle" and "Shaolin Soccer."

    Actress Li Bing Bing, 35, is from Harbin, in China's far-flung northern Heilongjiang province.

    Li graduated from the Shanghai Drama Institute and has seen a prolific acting career since her 1999 film debut in "Seventeen Years." Her newest role, starring opposite Jackie Chan in September's "1911," commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution, which marked the fall of China's imperial rule.

    Chinese actress Yao Chen, 32, hails from Quanzhou in Fujian Province.

    A much-loved press and people's favourite, Yao wears the crown as the first person to crack the 10 million mark on the Weibo microblogging platform. Her throne sits alongside her Twitter counterpart, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.

    After graduation from the Beijing Film Academy, Yao earned her big break in the television series, "My Own Swordsman," in 2006. Today, she's popular on the international fashion-week circuit, being recently spotted at Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier couture shows.

    Taiwanese actress / singer Dee Hsu, otherwise known as "Xiao S" (xiao, meaning "little" in Chinese, references her big sister, starlet Barbie Hsu, who is nicknamed "Da S").

    Hsu, 33, is a loveable television favourite, co-hosting the variety show, "Kangxi Lai Le."

    Hsu recently made peace with her ex-rival, Hong Kong actress Bowie Tseng. Their beef? Over Taiwan television host, Mickey Huang, who allegedly two-timed Hsu with Tseng in 2000.

    Chinese actress Zhao Wei, or Vicki Zhao, who hails from Wuhu, Anhui province. She's pictured here with Chinese actor Chen Kun.

    An alumnus of the prestigious Beijing Film Academy, Zhao's breakthrough performance came in the Taiwanese television series, "Princess Pearl," in 1999.
