The cool-ness barometer shifted this season, going from hypebeast sweats-and-sneaks, to sleek, structured suiting. It was last season when Demna Gvasalia lamented, “How can [today’s youthful generation] wear a suit — which they never do?” Oversized, it would seem.
At Balenciaga, blazers with peaked, powerful shoulders were worn with eerie red contacts and slender, BB-logoed dress (not dad) shoes, while Prada left the crisp poplin at home and sent a bare-chested but fully suited gentleman down the runway; there, accompanied with the ubiquitous chunky trainer, so don’t be hasty about throwing yours into the donation pile.
