Since Daniel Lee’s inaugural Autumn Winter 2019 collection at Bottega Veneta, each season we’ve been introduced to a new cohort of leather accessories with immediate social appeal. Right now, the designer’s pillowy clutches and handbags are reigning supreme and, as the trend continues to grow and evolve, there’s a bounty of other designs competing for our attention.
Not only are these bags a stark contrast to the structured designs and sharp geometric silhouettes that the industry has recently been coveting, but they’re also upping their game when it comes to materials – think deliciously smooth leathers that feel like butter between your hands.
Among our favourites are Jil Sander’s glossy envelope clutch which offers a more streamlined approach to the trend, and as well as STAUD’s shoulder bag which uses ruching to add texture to its dough-like frames and By Far riff on their beloved baguette with updates that include a super soft exterior that easily collapses when empty.
