The Three jewellers we love now From rose gold carabiner clips to black Siam gold rings, three collections to adore.

Words by Harriet Quick

Marla Aaron

New York dwelling Marla Aaron, a former PR executive, turned an obsession with hardware and sentimental Victorian jewellery into an ingenious line inspired by carabiner ‘locks’ commonly used for mountaineering. Aaron has refashioned the form in fine metals with the twizzling closure set with precious stones. “I’ve morphed the shape a myriad of ways,” she says. Her cult clip-ons can be popped onto handbags, necklaces or even belt loops. Aaron even set up a vending machine at The Brooklyn Museum for spontaneous purchases.

Patcharavipa Bodiratnangkura

Based between London and Bangkok, Central St Martins trained Patcharavipa Bodiratnangkura has a taste of the raw and refined. She collaborates with master craftsmen in her native Thailand to create her striking work including Ginkgo Metrics hexagonal earrings (a great alternative to hoops) set with pave diamonds and the carved coconut and Siam black gold leaf shaped rings in the Coexistence line.

Lorde

Growing up in a family of jewellers and diamond dealers, Sandra Hagege’s venture into accessories might have been a fait accompli, but it was not until she started travelling and thinking about individual adornment that she found a rhyme and reason for her line, Lorde. The label’s speciality is delicate, poetic pieces featuring fine filigree work and tiny precious stones.
