Los Angeles is the blues capital of denim and Adaptation is the latest of launches from the City of Angels. Ali Fatourechi, who founded Genetic Denim in 2007, knows his stuff. The attitude is feisty with kick flare crop and boyish jeans with carefully deployed wear and tear plus cute fringe miniskirts emblazoned with roses, palm print tees and sweats.

Strong tailoring and a youthful charm make up this New Zealand-based label that debuted only late last year. 22-year-old Maggie Hewitt is only one year out of university, but has already made a name for her brand of feminine, ruffled skirts and raw silk dresses.

The world is topsy-turvy and Vinti Tan and Paul Andrews have a neat way of expressing that in clothes. The London based duo, recycle, deconstruct and reconstruct with aplomb. Giant spliced denim flares, studded sweat pants and slip dresses made from cult T-shirts are some of this label’s signature gems.
