Introducing the new rules of Made-to-Measure

The rules of men’s sartorial style are changing, and in celebration of our upcoming in store Made-to-Measure program, we present the five new rules that will put the power in that power suit. Nothing says authority quite like a well-cut suit so take a risk this season and try something new to up the impact of your everyday classics.

1
Suiting Separates
The new rule to suiting is that there are no rules. Shed the perception of the traditional suit as a standard two or three-piece set, and instead treat them as separates. Match a made-to-measure blazer and matching vest with a pair of chinos, or swap your button-up shirt for a polo instead – the possibilities are endless.
2
Champion Chinos
The versatility of chinos is often overlooked, yet the same pair can transition seamlessly from boardroom wear to a weekend must-have. Invest in a pair of made-to-measure chinos from Incotex in classic navy. Get the most wear from yours by opting for a slim-fit style in a cotton-blend fabric. As the perennial piece of any well-stocked wardrobe, these will last you a lifetime.

Introduce Colour
A classic navy suit with similarly hued details can be predictable, so why not change it up and show a little charisma with accessories that add an edge. Start with the smaller details, like a pocket square or a tie, and as you gain confidence, experiment with hero pieces such as a blazer in an of-the-moment shade.

Change up Your Footwear
Every wardrobe needs a timeless pair of Oxford shoes, but for a fresh look, modern iterations give you the chance to express yourself through colour and shape. The key is to look for small detail updates in classic silhouettes – think engineered cushioned soles or colour-block overlays.
5
Mix in Denim
When the occasion calls for softer lines and something a little more smart casual, introduce a pair of denim into the mix. Match a tailored blazer with a pair of jeans from 3x1. The brand’s use of luxurious selvedge denim and innovative silhouettes helps to maintain a clean sartorial aesthetic.
