Inspired by the brand’s iconic heritage, each camera is handmade in Sweden and the X1D combines Scandinavian sensibility with the beautiful performance that Hasselblad has come to be known for.
Mirrorless cameras feature interchangeable lenses that do not contain a mirror reflex optical viewfinder. This means that they are more durable and vitally create less vibration, which unlike traditional cameras, negatively affects the image quality. By opting for a mirrorless design, Hasselblad are able to take the 50MP sensor and pack it into the most compact camera; the X1D is smaller than most full frame 35mm cameras.
In essence, for the very first time, photographers have access to a camera that is no larger than a small format rangefinder – at a lightweight 725g, including HD video, Wi-Fi and built-in GPS – but offers the quality that only Hasselblad’s medium format can give. To enhance the new camera design, Hasselblad have also produced a new range of autofocus lens engineered to match the high-resolution capability of the X1D.
