When Japanese designer Junichi Abe launched Kolor in 2004, his vision of
“sophisticated comfort” evolved from his meticulous moulding and morphing of three elements:
unique textures, expert cutting and masterly sewing techniques. Having honed his craft at Comme
Des Garçons, where he learnt to shape and construct new garments, he has today firmly
established his name as a purveyor of understated street-luxe.
For Autumn/Winter 2011, his men’s Kolor collection — exclusive to Lane Crawford, Hong Kong —
mixes easy style with informal suiting. From chunky knits to crumpled pants, deluxe hoodies and
easy-fit tailoring, the get-ups worn by Abe’s shag-hair model perfectly exemplifies the
intriguing essence of Kolor: simple, yet so complex.
Kolor is available at Lane Crawford ifc
mall, Hong Kong, and Lane Crawford Seasons
Place, Beijing.
