Kate Jones: Paying Kindness Forward

“Living better and being well is about achieving a soft happiness and calmness. It’s a place where you can feel balance and make steps to achieve it,” says Kate Jones, the co-founder of get.give, a carefully curated collection of gifts that enrich the everyday.

This state of mind, according to Jones, allows us to have the peace of mind to make considered decisions. “This applies to what we put in our bodies, how we talk to one another, purchases we make. If it comes from a good place, the outcome is always a lot more satisfying and the flow on effect is life changing for all.”

Striving to live with the essence of kindness - to herself and to others - everyday, Jones created get.give to foster that exact philosophy. Having always had an obsession with cleaning, her range of home care gift boxes and shoe care sets allows her to share her passion.

“Even as a child, I’d clean the house to surprise my mum. I would clear out everything, even cleaning the back of cupboards. The satisfaction of a job done well has never left me! But a clean, organised home flows on positively to so much more in your life. Finding things easily or simply enjoying how something looks stored nicely can change your frame of mind,” says Jones.

Her top tips for maintaining an organised lifestyle? “I’m constantly decluttering, but twice a year, I’ll review my wardrobe and give well-cared for items to The Hula or Redress. I try to keep my wardrobe down to no more than 15 pieces at a time – I’d prefer to invest in quality and have less items. Also, remember to clear out your handbags weekly. They are like little households we carry around with ourselves.”

And once you’ve re-organised and decluttered a space, treat yourself to that nice candle, pour a glass of wine and enjoy your hard work.
