This Valentine’s Day, love is a gift you can give yourself by setting a mood and getting in the zone.
One of the strongest links to emotion and memory that the body has is through its sense of smell. What better way to trigger your feels than with one of our favourite floral notes: rose.
Tom Ford’s Rose Prick is one such example. Turkish and Bulgarian roses are used, but the dark side of this romantic bloom is enhanced by notes of Sichuan pepper, turmeric, patchouli and tonka bean, achieving a full-bodied aroma that is distinctly Tom Ford. Diptyque’s Paris-inspired Eau Capitale, on the other hand, runs more woodsy – blending roses with fresh bergamot and pink peppercorn. A purer ode to florals is Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s L’eau À la rose, whose Bulgarian and Grasse roses are inflected with the fruitiness of lychee and a dash of musk.
