Renowned for her enchanting open ring bands that elegantly loop around the finger and playful bracelets and earrings inspired by whimsical florals and doodle-like shapes, Bea Bongiasca is a breath of fresh air in the world of jewellery design.
We sit down with the talented young designer to explore her favourite pieces from the latest launch and discover how this collection invites everyone to embrace their individuality and “treat themselves” through personal style.
Enjoy a moment of pure indulgence as you step into a saccharine selection of mouthwatering colours
Do you have a favourite piece from this launch? What makes it special to you?

“Yes, the Baby Vine Heart Ring, the latest revisitation of our best-selling Baby Vine ring, now offered in three stunning colourways.”
This new design replaces the classic curl with a perfectly shaped heart, embodying an elegant simplicity that truly makes it a standout piece. I believe that in this case, less is more.
What role does colour play in the brand’s identity, especially in this new collection?

“Colour is everything to me. From the beginning, I have used colour not just as an adornment, but as a means to communicate joy, curiosity, and playfulness. “
Enamel allows me to create unexpected combinations that feel vibrant, almost alive, bringing a contemporary twist to fine jewellery, something that usually is limited to the use of gemstones.
In the new Hearts collection, I chose to use only three colours: Red, Black and Panna, an off-white shade. My goal was to create timeless pieces, and these colours are among the most popular. Each tone is bold yet iconic, carefully selected to evoke specific emotions – from the passion of Red to the softer, more romantic essence of Panna. The use of colours is a fundamental aspect of Bea Bongiasca’s DNA, and this collection truly celebrates that.
Jewellery is often deeply personal. What emotions or stories do you hope your pieces evoke?
In my creative process, I deeply value the emotions of escapism, wonder, and imagination. I design each piece as part of a fantastical world—a vibrant universe that invites the wearer to step away from the noise of everyday life. My goal is to create jewellery that not only adorns the body, but also provides a moment of magic. I envision my pieces as tiny portals—wearable dreams—that transport people, if only for a fleeting moment.

Are there any new design elements or colour combinations you’re especially excited about?
In this collection, I decided to focus on three enamel colours, and I am really in love with all of the colour combinations, no exceptions!
How do you stay creatively inspired while maintaining a consistent aesthetic?
The biggest challenge I face is balancing my entrepreneurial duties with my creative work. However, when it’s time to design, I eagerly look forward to it and feel grateful to get it started, as it’s my favourite aspect of what I do. Regarding aesthetics, I believe every designer has a unique style, and staying true to yourself ensures consistency. It’s important to maintain focus and not get caught up in fleeting trends; instead aim to create them.
Your jewellery often feels like a celebration of individuality and joy. How does this new collection encourage people to “treat themselves” through personal style?

Through my brand, I am to convey joy and individuality. I want to inspire a sense of freedom and playfulness—reminding people that fine jewellery can be fun and diverse - it doesn’t all have to look the same.
My jewels are wearable artworks that celebrate creativity, colour, and the beauty of being unique.
Equally important to me is preserving and supporting local craftsmanship. All my jewellery is made in Italy, a country known for its rich tradition of artisanal excellence. This commitment not only ensures the highest quality but also helps sustain the incredible community of skilled makers whose techniques and passion are essential to the heart of my work.

“I believe my latest collection reflects this ethos, as it reimagines the classic heart motif in a modern way, serving as a token of love meant for both gifting and self-expression.“
At the heart of it all, my brand stands for optimism, creativity, and the belief that luxury can be joyful and authentic. How do you approach retail presentation and storytelling in a space like Lane Crawford?
The retail presentation is an extension of my design philosophy. It should be immersive, joyful, and a little unexpected! In a space like Lane Crawford, which already boasts a strong identity and visual presence, we aim to create a moment that feels distinctly “Bea Bongiasca” from the very first glance. This involves incorporating colour, movement, and a playful atmosphere that invites people in.
We approach storytelling in layers, while the jewellery itself is the hero, we frame it with colour to evoke our unique world and give customers a sense of stepping into it. Ultimately, it’s about creating a connection.

I would like to open more stores like our charming flagship in Milan on Via Solferino 25 because it really allows you to present the jewellery in the best possible way, completely in line with the brand’s values and aesthetic.
“Additionally, I want to create interactive experiences in our stores and retail partners to foster deeper engagement with our community and host in-store events.“
I will also continue to share our brand’s story on digital platforms and social media, highlighting the narratives behind the jewellery and collaborating with like-minded brands that share our values.
