WINNERS
Susan Fang
SUSAN FANG launched her eponymous label in 2017 following her graduation from Central Saint Martins. With a focus on perception and mathematics, each collection combines innovative textiles, colours, and silhouettes to create garments and accessories with artistic originality.
SUSAN FANG is inspired by concepts relating to the perception of beauty and the instinctive allure of nature and the ever-present fractals.
The brand focusses on innovation in textiles and developing methods of sustainable practices within design and production, focussing on craftsmanship and artisanal making.
Susan has been consistently recognised by industry professionals and was selected for Forbes 30 Under 30 2019 and 2020. She was also shortlisted for the LVMH Prize. SUSAN FANG is stocked internationally at prestigious stockists Browns, Farfetch, Net a Porter, Selfridges, Dover Street Market London/Singapore/US, Machine A, Joyce and IT.
Private Policy
Private Policy was founded in 2015 by Parsons graduates Siying Qu and Haoran Li. After their nomination for “Designers of the Year” and finalists for the Kering “Empowering Imagination Contest,” the two designers partnered up to create Private Policy and their first collection.
Since the brand’s launch, Private Policy had grown their domestic and international presence, now sold at H. Lorenzo in the United States, Selfridges in London, Opening Ceremony in Japan, and Dongliang in China as well as FARFETCH online.
They are nominated as Fashion Group International Rising Star, selected as members of the CFDA NXTSTP Program, listed on Forbes China 30 under 30, and recently won the GQ China Present award to present their SS19 and FW20 collections during Men’s London Fashion Week.
Peinap Mok (PGI Jewellery winner)
Peinap’s design concept “Spectrum” allows wearers to mix and match different components in a piece of jewelry, for customization, for mix and match, for maximal versatility. The mix of colors and materials also give the collection a lot of contrast and tension in its shape, surface and textures; the concept is fun, DIY and colourful. With its range of different materials and components, the collection has a great advantage in its merchandising, pricing and experience.
SPECIAL MENTION
Fabric Porn
Fabric Porn began in 2019 in Shanghai. The brand’s core values are functionality and artistry. Fabric Porn aims to fuse eastern elements and western values, help the new generation Chinese to find the forgotten Chinese aesthetics and gather cultural confidence.
Designer Chenxi Zhao graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor degree in design. Chenxi grew up in China and studied in America since high school. The cultural influence from the East and the West inspired Chenxi to trace his own patterns of thought. ChenXi hopes to influence the new generation with his design and help them to gather cultural confidence and pride.
Dovetail
DOVETAIL, is an attitude jewellery brand for confident and powerful contemporary women. Inspired by ancient Chinese mortise and tenon joints, it contains yin and yang and balances with control, just like the power of women. As an extension of their bodies, jewellery accessories help them to be quiet soloists with a neat style that does not follow the trend. When such a group of users are looking for jewellery accessories, they hope to find a modern, individual and non-sensational design, and DOVETAIL’s accessories provide them with a new choice-minimalism, refinement and eternal style.
