The contoured troughs and grooves of Rimowa’s signature lightweight aluminium shell are markers of an individual always on-the-go. But fun? Playful? Not really part of Rimowa’s design lexicon...until now.
CHAOS is helmed by Charlotte Stockdale and Katie Lyall, both of whom have prior careers as fashion editors and stylist extraordinaires, and both of whom take fun seriously. It’s zingy, personalised phone cases cloaked in lush grainy leather; pill-shaped chenille patches and alphabetised tags in bubbly, enthusiastically-sans-serif fonts. This happy-go-lucky approach to serious luxury plays out in CHAOS’ collaboration with Rimowa, too. It’s a collection of travel necessities you’d be deliriously happy to see drift your way on an airport conveyor belt.
In no particular order: an eggy luggage tag fried sunny-side up; Rimowa’s signature Cabin carry-on, colourblocked with white and bright canary yellow; and stickers. So many stickers.
Until we can get excited about our next tropical getaway, we’re shifting our focus to the potential for travel with this uplifting collection.
