After scouting for bands on Spotify and You Tube, Matthew Miller dispensed with a traditional runway and staged his collection during a live gig in a railway arch in London. He called it “Riot,” but Miller’s uprising has peaceful vibes; this is a designer who puts function first. He cuts sharp city coats, wool gabardine trenches, and bomber jackets with internal garment straps so they can be slung over the shoulder like a cape. Miller’s polish won him the 2017/18 International Woolmark Prize and we’ve zoned in on his special capsule featuring a handsome duffle coat and high-waisted trouser in Australian merino wool and water-resistant weaves, as well as the best picks of the mainline. "I never saw beauty as being something that was a physical object. It is a moment in time, a fleeting feeling, a scar, a memory, an experience, a sense of freedom," says Miller.
