AN ODE TO JOY

As we prepare to turn over a new leaf, let us always remember to enjoy moments of joy.

While joy can sometimes feel intangible or even magical, merely floating around us, it can be easier to grab than we realise. Whether it be giving in to a smile, laughter, or the impulse to jump or dance, allow yourself those spontaneous moments that ignite something inside.

Relish indulging in those chocolates, the comfort and satisfaction of a daily ritual, sipping hot tea before bedtime or giving that long-awaited hug. To live joyfully is to savour the smaller pleasures, to lean into positive emotion, and to celebrate every small win.

And so, with the Year of the Ox, it’s time to move away from the relentless, misguided and unattainable pursuit of achieving long-lasting happiness, and step into simple moments of joy. Like everything else, they are fleeting, but if you know where to look, they are plentiful. Best of all, they are always yours for the taking.
