Founder Alexandra Popa and designer Javier Suarez set out to create a luxury brand of fashion-led lingerie and bodywear, with S&M undertones in 2007.
Their big break came when the duo dressed Britney Spears for her Circus Tour. A week later Selfridges placed an order for their S/S09 collection. At Selfridges Bordelle’s couture girdles sold out within 24 hours.
Today, Popa works on the business side of things while Suarez heads up the London-based design studio creating bedroom fashion inspired by bandage dressing and bondage.
