With limited space comes the age-old problem of too many things and not enough places to put them. Portuguese joinery label WeWood solves this issue with its X2 smart shelf, an innovative bookshelf that adapts to a multitude of needs and spaces.

Designed by Laurindo Marta, the versatile bookshelf is made from two blocks of the same size, each composed of 48 wooden slats that allow movement of the blocks to increase the width and height at any time. This creates new modules and compartments to store books, boxes and other decorative items.

As the shelf is also foldable, it’s easy to move around from one space to another. Alter the structure to suit your space as your needs change. Best of all? Its flexibility allows you to create infinite combinations without visual repetition, perfect for injecting newness into stale spaces.
