Launched in 2013 by Stephanie To and Yat Ming Lo, NAP is a labour of love in more ways than one. United by their passion for vintage lamps - and each other - the couple decided to join forces to create a lighting brand that reflected their shared design philosophy. Since then, the pair have gone on to work with a variety of clients - from restaurants and jewellery exhibitions to interior design firms and lamp designers - in the US and Europe, and most recently added success in Lane Crawford’s The Next New 2016 programme to their list of accolades.

“We love clean and simple design,” says To, who cites the aesthetic of 1960s lighting as a particular favourite. “Design from this decade is so practical, it has a unique beauty.” For their most recent collection, however, the couple looked forward as well as back in time, using a laser-cut technique to create a series of contemporary energy-saving LED light bulbs with a futuristic feel. Named ‘URI’ in reference to the Greek word meaning ‘God’s light’, the collection is characterised by soft, minimalist lines that create ingenious lighting effects.
