Alter Eco Celebrating fashion’s sustainable side with Redress

Earlier this month, Redress organised the world’s largest sustainable fashion competition, the EcoChic Design Award. The competition involves a week-long intensive sustainable design exploration tackling real-life waste scenarios, which this year included creating reproducible lifestyle products from Cathay Pacific’s old uniforms and rescuing discarded garments from Hong Kong clothing bins.

Taking this year’s crown is British designer Kate Morris. Focused on zero-waste, up-cycling and reconstruction, the designer’s collection features knitwear weaved with bright, clashing prints and colours. Resourcefully made from end of line yarns and secondhand T-shirts, each piece cleverly fuses handcrafted elements with technology.

In support of young emerging talent and the vital issue of sustainability in fashion, Lane Crawford is showcasing Kate Morris’ winning collection in store at ifc mall.
