Chances are, you’ll look to Instagram for inspiration and come across the vibrant, informative, and impeccably styled content from Sam and Victor. Beyond their captivating artistry lies an openness in sharing their everyday lives (with humour and realism to boot), creating a genuine connection – one that truly makes you feel at home.

In honour of Valentine’s Day, we speak to the couple on what they love about each other, how they balance work and play, and upcoming V-Day plans.

Tell us about your love story.

V: Before I moved to Hong Kong in 2016, I was desperate for connections since I knew nobody. I asked a friend in Toronto, and she mentioned this girl named Sam. When we met, we clicked immediately since we were both creatives and photographers. That summer, we went to watch Train to Busan for our first date, and have been together since then - almost 7 years.

What do you most appreciate about each other?

V: Sam is genuine, driven, and passionate, and gives 110% to everything she does. I also admire her ability to talk to anyone and make them feel welcomed.

S: Humour is important in a relationship and Victor always makes me laugh – as you can probably tell from his reels. He’s also patient, calm, and open to criticism and feedback.

How has your relationship evolved over the years?

S: When I first met Victor, he was very spontaneous and never set a schedule. It took him a few years to notice I was upset about that. He now plans most things and keeps a calendar for reminders.

V: Sam used to become stressed easily when things didn't go as planned, but over the years, she has learned that a lot of details don’t really matter.

How do you balance your creative endeavours with everyday life?

V + S: Honestly, there is no balance. We work and we live, and our lives are our work - especially as we have started doing weekly vlogs on YouTube. While we get to make a career out of just “living,” at the same time, we don’t know when to put the camera down and enjoy the moment.
