Valentine’s Day Gift Guide A gift for every type of person in your life - yourself included
Be a gift-giving hero this Valentine’s Day and treat that special someone in your life - yourself included - with a thoughtful gift they’ll adore.
To help, Lane Crawford has curated a tightly edited gift guide for four different types of people on your February 14 shopping list.
When you’re single and ready to mingle
Who run the world? Don’t bother waiting with bated breath to see if a secret admirer sends you a gift by buying yourself one instead. Make it a great one, and treat yourself to a feel-good piece someone else probably couldn’t buy for you - a pair of jeans in the perfect fit, a foundation that perfectly matches your complexion, a dress that shows off your best assets. Then slip into your new purchase, pour yourself a glass of champagne, and celebrate you.
When you’re crushing on someone new
If you’re admiring someone from afar, or are in the first stages of a relationship, anything too romantic should be off limits. Keep it light with playful offerings that show your Valentine where your heart lies – cue gifts in pink, red or peppered with love hearts. Sometimes clichés are fair game, too – flowers (just steer clear of cookie cutter bouquets) and food (the way to anyone’s heart) are both popular and safe options for a reason.
When you’re in it for the long haul
Earn your “Best Partner Ever” status by showing your long-term loved-one that you understand their taste - or better yet - prove you were listening when they explained it to you. Whether their style is classic or statement, jewellery is a no-brainer. For a more unconventional grand gesture, a piece of furniture for the home you share together will put emoji hearts in their eyes.
When you’re treating
your Galentine
These days, February 14 is for more than just romantics. Thanks to Galentine’s Day, first created by Amy Poehler’s character on Parks and Recreation, forever friends are also honoured on the Hallmark holiday. What should you gift your BFF? Happy-centric gifts that help her live her best life – whether that be by boosting her confidence, helping her relax or allowing her to indulge.
