Forego full sets of china by creating a mix-and-match table from different sets. Just remember that there should be a unifying element; if you combine dishes and flatware from different periods and styles, ensure that they share similar proportions and complementary lines and colour tones.
Classic white china will make any dish look good, but for added character, don’t be afraid to play with patterns. Geometric lines are easy to match and will allow you to experiment with different pieces as the number of guests grows.
Add a touch of glamour and sparkle to any setting with lustrous gold hues, which pair beautifully with festive berry shades, crisp whites and detailed patterns.
