Over the years, lipsticks have stirred up much controversy, from Queen Victoria deeming it a mark of harlotry to Winston Churchill reviving it to boost morale during World War II. And yet, lipsticks managed to survive through the ages and remain a staple in every woman’s life.
National Lipstick Day on July 29 honours this iconic beauty accessory’s staying power and to celebrate, we invited certified lipsologist Anna Snodgrass to read the lips of beauty icons Elle Lee, Louise Wong and Kathy Chow. Like a fingerprint, everyone has their own unique lip print that can say a lot about her personality. Each feature from size and shape to even the distinctive lines mapping your pout, are said to tell your deepest secrets, from whether you’re a sophisticated gourmet to whether a good listener.
