When he blueprinted the Moncler Genius collection, CEO Remo Ruffini made his vision one of innovation. He invited eight international and diverse design talents, including Simone Rocha, Craig Green, Kei Ninomiya (Noir), for their instinct to shape visions of uniqueness, redrawing the parameters of our favourite puffer outerwear brand in the creation of unique capsule collections.

Each collection approaches the duvet as an object and takes turns in reinterpreting the iconic down puffer jacket using their own unique spin. 7 MONCLER FRAGMENT HIROSHI FUJIWARA is the first collection of the Moncler Genius series launching at Lane Crawford, which is the brainchild of designer, DJ and tastemaker Hiroshi Fujiwara.

Fujiwara’s subcultural antennae have been permanently tuned in since discovering a passion for hip-hop in the 80s; bringing knowledge, ideas, records, friends and products into Japan that helped set the scene for the birth of Harajuku style…Before the Internet, that was some feat.

Fujiwara reinterprets American grunge through a Japanese lens, reworking and tweaking classic down jackets and vests adding sweats, denim, a baseball jacket, and a mac with patches, prints and embroideries. The result, 7 MONCLER FRAGMENT HIROSHI FUJIWARA, is subtle and in this age of shouty  - oh, so powerful.
