Venezuelan born Harif Guzman moved to New York in the 1980s, where the bustling city became his source of inspiration and canvas. The celebrated street artist began his career tagging the streets of New York under his alter ego, Haculla. However, Guzman prefers not to be labelled and views himself simply as an artist, as his work spans many different mediums across painting and mixed media to video. His artistic approach transforms ordinary materials into powerful pieces that echo his own life experiences. From a humble childhood as a typesetter’s son, graffitist to internationally renowned contemporary artist, Guzman is a prime example of life intimating art.
